The institute is located in the heart of Bengaluru city and can easly be accessible from any part of the city. The campus has all facilities for learning with latest machineries and equipments /computers in workshops/labs, Wifi and internet.
Computer Laboratories with internet facility are available for all trades to facilitate individual practical sessions for all the trainees under the supervision of qualified trainers.
Based on the need to enhance the participation of women in the social and economical development of our country, a Women's Cell was set up, in the Ministry of Labour, Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE&T), with assistance from Swedish International Development Authority / International Labour Organization. DGE&T (WOT) conducted an all India feasibility study for expansion and diversification of VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME for WOMEN. As an outcome of this study, the Women's Vocational Training Programme was designed and launched in the year 1977.

It is a Basic level training for 10th/SSLC Passed women candidates.
It is an Advanced level training for CTS passed women candidates.
